MUSCAT: The bodies of two children who died in Thursday's road accident were transferred from Samad Al Shams hospital to Muscat on 5 January, 2014 according to sources.
"The bodies of Veda (11) and Vaibhav (3), both children of Sunil Kumar Tharol and Sreeja Tharol from the south Indian state of Kerala, have been shifted to Muscat. The body of Gopu Nair's son is still here," sources at the Samad Al Shams Hospital said.
Three children were killed and six others injured in the accident near Samad Al Shams in Ibra on Thursday. Sunil Kumar and his family members were travelling in an SUV in the Ibra region, along with their family friend Deepu Nair, when they met with the accident.
In all, there were nine passengers in the vehicle. Sunil, his wife Sreeja, Diyah, Deepu Nair, Adhu and Gopu Nair were injured in the accident. Gopu Nair had come from London to meet his brother Deepu, who is residing in Oman.
"On Saturday, Gopu Nair and his wife Adhu were shifted to Khoula hospital from Ibra hospital for further treatment. Their condition is still unpredictable," sources at Ibra hospital said.
"Sunil and Sreeja, parents of Veda and Vaibhav, were discharged from the hospital on Thursday evening. They had only minor injuries," Samad Al Shams hospital sources added.
Five people were killed in three different accidents last Thursday.
An Indian expatriate died in Khadhara, when he was hit by a vehicle. According to sources, the victim, identified as Anil Kumar, 39, was hit by a vehicle near a hypermarket in Khadhara. The vehicle, which hit Anil, sped past from the scene after the accident.
A Technical College lecturer's mother died in an accident in Ibra. The accident, which claimed Vimalakumari's life, happened when the vehicle they were travelling in collided with a truck.
