Muscat: Muscat City Centre, the Sultanate's largest and leading shopping destination, has completely renovated and expanded its popular food court area to accommodate double the number of diners. The new dining area features a modern ambience with six new international dining outlets, creating greater choice and convenience for shoppers. The project is a part of Muscat City Centre's wider redevelopment aimed at significantly enhancing the leisure and entertainment options for the community, which also includes a 10-screen VOX Cinemas and an enhanced Magic Planet set to open early this year.

"Muscat City Centre is currently undergoing an exciting transformation which will ultimately better serve the needs of the immediate community as the retail and leisure landscape grows," said Dimitri Vazelakis, Executive Managing Director – Shopping Malls for Majid Al Futtaim. "Muscat City Centre's newly enhanced and expanded food court will meet the expected increases in visitation as Oman's retail landscape continues to mature, and the mall becomes a stronger destination for shopping, dining and entertainment.

Having doubled in size, the food court now comfortably seats 950 diners – a strategic expansion to accommodate the expected increase in footfall when VOX Cinemas and the newly enhanced Magic Planet attractions open. The dining choices have also expanded to include six new outlets: Charley's, Chowking, Doner Kabab, Hatam, Pizza Hut and TAZA; bringing Muscat City Centre's total Food and Beverage options to 24 - one of the largest offers in the Sultanate.

In the efforts to upgrade the overall shopper experience, visitors at Muscat City Centre can now dine in contemporary new surroundings, fitted with new furniture and flooring, brighter areas as a result of natural light and upgraded shop fronts for existing dining outlets. The original furniture was donated to local charitable organisations as part of the mall's commitment to the community.
