Salalah: Directorate General of Social Development in the governorate of Dhofar signed two agreements with Salalah Methanol Co. and Raysut Cement Co. in the presence of Dr. Yahya bin Badr al-Ma'awali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development on Thursday.
As per the first agreement, Salalah Methanol Company will allocate OMR90,000 for the social responsibility program to fund 10 scholarships for members of the social security families.
As per the second agreement, Raysut Cement Company will provide OMR100,000 for building halls at the Al Wafa Social Centre in Salalah.
On behalf of the Ministry of Social Development, the two agreements were signed by Abdullah bin Sulaiman al-Sabie, Director General of the Directorate General of Social Development in the Governorate of Dhofar and Eng. Awadh bin Hassan al-Shanfari, CEO of Salalah Methanol Company and Eng. Salim bin Alawi Ba Aboud, Acting CEO of Raysut Cement Co.
The two agreements, which are part of the public private partnership (PPP), aim at meeting the needs of social security family members and their equivalents.
Dr. Al-Ma'awali, said the social responsibility programs by the private sector complement the efforts made by the government to meet the needs of social security families and those with special needs. He thanked the senior managers in both companies for their support to these categories of our society.
Abdullah bin Sulaiman al- Sabie, Director General of the Directorate General of Social Development in the Governorate of Dhofar, said the training halls that will be funded by Raysut Cement Company would be dedicated for children suffering from autism in the Sultanate.
