Royal Dutch Shell has appointed Chris Breeze as the new general manager and country chairman for Oman, according to a press release.
"I am very excited to take on this new role and look forward to working closely with our stakeholders to enhance Shell's long-standing partnership with the government and the people of the Sultanate," said Breeze.
Breeze aims to build on Shell's technology partnership with Oman to further various innovative oil and gas projects in the country. He brings wide experience from his involvement as a senior adviser for the Middle East and North Africa in Shell's Government Relations department.
Before joining Shell, Chris spent 25 years as a diplomat in the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).
His overseas postings for the FCO included Egypt, Turkey, India and Cyprus.
Chris Breeze is replacing John Blascos, who will take on a new role as vice-president of New Business Development in The Netherlands.
Shell has been active in Oman since 1937 with business ranging across the oil and gas industry, from research and development to exploration and production.
Shell also implements extensive social investment programmes that contribute to the sustainable development of the country.
