Muscat:
Dr. Omar bin Abdul Muniem Al Zawawi, Founder and Chairman of Omar Zawawi Establishment (Omzest), and Dr Amer bin Awadh Al Rawas, CEO of Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel), have received the ABLF Lifetime Achievement Award and Business Excellence Award, respectively at a ceremony in Dubai recently. Omantel received the Business Excellence award at the Asia Business Leadership Forum Awards. A delegation from Oman, including Khalil Abdullah Al Khonji, Chairman of the Federation of GCC Chambers and Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Dr P. Mohamed Ali, vice-chairman and managing director of Galfar; attended the event.
Speaking at the event Al Khonji said, "I am very happy to attend the event and see it growing so well. It's a good opportunity for leaders and countries to come together and I hope more and more Asian leaders and countries participate in this event."
The who's who of the corporate and political arena from the Gulf, India and South-East Asia gathered at the second edition of the Asian Business Leadership Forum Awards recently at the St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort.
Business and government leaders, policy makers and media from the UAE, Oman, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia attended the glittering event, which honoured 16 outstanding achievers in the sectors of industry, infrastructure and energy.
