Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said conferred the Sultan Qaboos Order for Culture, Science and Arts (First Class) on Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Founder and Inventor of the World Wide Web (www).

The order was presented to Sir Tim Berners-Lee by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court when he received him in his office here yesterday in the presence of Eng. Ali bin Mas'oud Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the ITA Board.
