Karachi: Pakist Pakistan's benchmark stock index, the Karachi Stock Exchange 100 Index, rose 0.62 per cent at the close.
The index of 100 companies traded on the Karachi Stock Exchange rose 103.03 to 16,641.01. Among the stocks in the index, 54 rose, 39 fell and 7 were unchanged.
Gains in the Karachi Stock Exchange 100 Index were led by Oil & Gas Development, Hub Power and Mcb Bank. Engro Corporation, which rose 1.02 rupees to 98.35 rupees, was the most active stock by value in Pakistan.
The next most active issues were Jahangir Siddiqui, which rose 1.00 to 18.56 rupees, and Pakistan Petroleum.
