Drug peddler held

Muscat: Officers from the Drug Enforcement Department of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) recently arrested an Asian national on charges of drug trafficking in the Gubrah area in the wilayat of Bausher. The ROP statement informed that Drug Enforcement Department officers suspected that one of the expatriates was involved in trafficking narcotics.
Following further investigations, the police arrested the accused at his flat, where they confiscated 29 heroin capsules. Police also recovered money that the suspect had earned from the sale of drugs. The accused has since been referred to the Public Prosecution for trial.
