Nalaka steers Sinha CT to victory

Sinha aided by a blazing unbeaten 108 from opening batsman K.G. Nalaka trounced Al Saigh by nine wickets in a Khimji Ramdas sponsored B Division 30 overs a side match played during the weekend at the Municipality Ground No.1 at Al Amerat.
Deciding to bat a 10 man Al Saigh team scored 218 for 5 thanks to a brilliant unbeaten 110 off 105 deliveries including 15 boundaries from opening batsman Saeed Mohammed and an equally good 64 from Mohammed Ahmed Khan.
Sinha in their turn galloped to 220 for the loss of one wicket off 17.5 overs. Opening batsman Rangajeewa Perera made a brisk 55 and together with Nalaka posted 125 runs for the first wicket in just 9.3 overs. Dhammika Premadasa coming in at the fall of the first wicket scored an unbeaten 40 and was associated in an unfinished partnership of 95 runs off 8.3 overs with Nalaka.
Brief scores: Al Saigh 218 for the loss of 5 wickets off 30 overs (Saeed Mohammed 110no and Mohammed Ahmed Khan 64) lost to Sinha 220 for the loss of 1 wicket off 17.5 overs (K.G. Nalaka 108no, Rangajeewa Perera 55 and Dhammika Premadasa 40no). Points: Sinha – 5 points (6 games – 19 points) and Al Saigh – Nil points (6 games – Nil points).
Al Hail unbeaten
Al Hail stayed unbeaten with a massive 112 run win against Renaissance in an Al Ansari Group of Companies sponsored C Division 25 over match played at the same venue.
Electing to bat Al Hail with all their top order batsmen continuing to contribute with the bat scored 275 for 7 at the end of their quota of 25 overs. Ghayoor Abbas top scored with 87 and together with Chaudry Khurram who made a blistering 58 put together 101 runs for the fifth wicket off 7.2 overs. The other contributions came from skipper Mohammed Sharif 59 and a cameo 25 from Chaudry Haroon. The bowling honours were shared by Younus Shafi 2 for 29, Vijayan Verayan 2 for 44 and skipper Manmohan Singh 2 for 70.
Renaissance after being docked two overs for slow over rates managed to reach 163 for 9 at the end of 23 overs. Sajeed Ahmed remained unbeaten on 32 while Prashanth M. chipped in with 29. Murad Yunus was the pick of the bowlers ending with figures of 4 for 35 whilst M.G. Shankar claimed 2 for 27 off 5 overs each.

Salman Rashid opening the batting scored a brilliant unbeaten 84 to help PDORC record a massive seven wicket win against Mustafa Sultan Enterprises (MSE) in a Raha Poly Products sponsored D Division 25 over match played during the week end at the adjoining ground No.4 at Al Amerat.
Batting first MSE were bowled out for 142 at the end of 25 overs. The major contributors were R.J. Sawant 40 and Sajjad Ali Khan 40. The bowlers to impress were Asad Baig 3 for 17 Zakir Khan 3 for 24 and Shakeel Arshad 2 for 28.
Requiring 143 for a win PDORC replied with 145 for the loss of three wickets off 16.5 overs thanks to a second wicket partnership of 73 runs between Salman and Sandesh Dhuri 29. Mohammed Sajid picked up two wickets conceding 46 runs.
Brief scores: Mustafa Sultan Enterprises 142 all out off 25 overs (R.J. Sawant 40 and Sajjad Ali Khan 40; Asad Baig 3/17, Zakir Khan 3/24 and Shakeel Arshad 2/28) lost to PDORC 145 for the loss of 3 wickets off 16.5 overs (Salman Rashid 84no and Sandesh Dhuri 29; Mohammed Sajid 2/46). Points: PDORC – 2 points (5 games – 6 points) and MSE – Nil points (5 games – Nil points).
In another Raha Poly Products sponsored D Division 25 over match played at the same venue RAFO despite a scintillating 102 runs from Abdul Majid went down by four wickets to Muscat Duty Free (MDF).
Electing to bat RAFO did well to reach 198 for the loss of nine wickets off their quota of 25 overs thanks to the contributions of Majid and his partner Syed Issa 40. The bowling honours were shared by skipper Ganesh 2 for 35 off 4 overs and Mohan 2 for 35 off 5 overs.
MDF continued with their winning streak reaching their target off 22.5 overs losing six wickets. Ganesh led from the front scoring 70 and batting down the order Sushanth batting at No.6 chipped in with a valuable 61. Sohail Afzal and Usman Haider bagged two wickets each giving away 16 and 46 runs respectively.
Brief scores: RAFO 198 for the loss of 9 wickets off 25 overs (Abdul Majid 102 and Syed Issa 40; Ganesh 2/35 and Mohan 2/35) lost to MDF 199 for the loss of 6 wickets off 22.2 overs (Ganesh 70 and Sushanth 61; Sohail Afzal 2/16 and Usman Haider 2/46). Points: MDF – 2 points (5 games – 10 points) and RAFO – Nil points (5 games – 4 points).
Stars Light registered a two wicket win against Galfar to remain unbeaten in the Al Ansari Group of Companies sponsored C Division 25 over tournament when the two teams clashed at the Municipality Ground No.3 at Al Amerat.
Invited to bat Galfar were bowled out for 161 off 21 overs thanks to a superb 93 from Hashif Sha. None of the other batsmen made any noteworthy contributions. The bowlers to impress for Stars Light were Mohsin Raza and Rajesh Ketani who bagged three wickets each conceding 30 and 34 runs respectively off 5 overs each.
Stars Light in reply scored 162 for the loss of eight wickets off 22.3 overs with contributions from Mohsin Raza 32, Rajesh Khetani 29 not out and Ateeq Ahmed 25. The bowlers to be amongst the wickets were Zafar Iqbal 3 for 23, skipper Munas P.K. 2 for 31 and Rizwan Afgan 2 for 40 off 5 overs each.
Brief scores: Galfar 161 all out off 21 overs (Hashif Sha 93; Mohsin Raza 3/30 and Rajesh Khetani 3/34) lost to Stars Light 162 for the loss of 8 wickets off 22.3 overs (Mohsin Raza 32, Rajesh Khetani 29no and Ateeq Ahmed 25; Zafar Iqbal 3/23, Munas P.K. 2/31 and Rizwan Afgan 2/40). Points: Stars Light – 2 points (4 games – 8 points) and Galfar – Nil points (4 games – 4 points).
Big win for Towell
Towell Construction recorded a comprehensive 147 run win against OCT Amerat in an Enhance sponsored F Division Group B match played in the morning session at the adjacent ground No. 4 at Al Amerat.
Batting first Towell Construction piled up 222 runs for the loss of five wickets off the 25 allotted overs with all the top order batsmen scoring runs. Derrick Winston remained unbeaten on 68 whilst Waseem Abid 56 and No.3 batsman Vikas 46 all made valuable contributions. Inayat Ali picked up two wickets giving away 44 runs off 5 overs.
Set a mammoth target of 223 for victory OCT Amerat playing with 10 men were bundled out for 75 runs off 16.2 overs with Omar Ali made a top score 18. Datta with excellent bowling figures of 4 for 5 off 2.2 overs was the pick of the bowlers with support from Arun 2 for 17 off 4 overs.
Brief scores: Towell Construction 222 for the loss of 5 wickets off 25 overs (Derrick Winston 68, Waseem Abid 56 and Vikas 46; Inayat Ali 2/44) defeated OCT Amerat 75 all out off 16.2 overs (Datta 4/5 and Arun 2/17). Points: Towell Construction – 2 points (5 games – 8 points) and OCT Amerat – Nil points (5 games – 2 points).
