Al Buraimi: Al Rawdha Police Station personnel belonging to the Customs Administration in Al Buraimi yesterday arrested seven Asian nationals accused of smuggling diesel outside the Sultanate and trying to bribe civil servants.
A source at the Public Administration of Customs said that one of the accused tried to bribe custom officers to facilitate the crossing of five trucks loaded with diesel to a neighbouring country.
Earlier, the Al Buraimi Intelligence Admiration and the Special Tasks Police seized five trucks carrying the number plates of a neighbouring country and arrested seven Asian nationals at the checkpoint.
Meanwhile, Al Buraimi police arrested two Asian nationals, one of them working at a fuel station and the other a truck driver, after they filled two tankers with diesel for the purpose of smuggling.
