Muscat: Panasonic, the leading global manufacturer of consumer electronics and home appliances, has officially launched 'ePlus' — an online portal for customers in Oman.
The move marks Panasonic as the first electronics company to launch an online portal in Oman.
The shoppers will have to log onto the ePlus website http://eplus.panasonic.om and register themselves following a simple process, to avail of the great offers on site. Once live; the site will provide some great introductory offers to the registered shoppers.
The portal will serve as a one stop destination for all customers interested in buying from a wide array of Panasonic products. It will enable customers to purchase Panasonic products from their offices or from within the comfort of their homes and will have products delivered directly as well. The key highlight of this online shopping would be an extended one year warranty on all purchases.
Panasonic is currently focusing on promoting and complementing activities towards the 'Eco Ideas Declaration' to be a green innovation company. To achieve this goal, Panasonic is pursuing Eco Ideas for lifestyles that aim to reduce the environmental impact of its operations to a maximum extent.
'ePlus' the new and innovative paperless shopping environment is a holistic approach towards getting closer to a greener lifestyle.
"The Middle East is a vibrant and developing market, gaining a strong foothold in online shopping. Consumers appreciate and embrace new trends relevant to their lifestyle. Online shopping trend is fast growing in Oman. The Sultanate has become one of the most important destinations in the Middle East region to attract foreign investments, and there is a consistent rise in disposable incomes as well. We want to offer relevant sales channels in all markets for customers to make their choice on how to buy," said Masao Motoki, managing director, Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa.
"Customer service has been centric to us and through this initiative we aim to provide shoppers with convenience of shopping from anywhere, anytime. We consider this as an important move in our plans to expand into other potential Middle Eastern markets in the coming years," added Motoki.
The customers who register on the website automatically become Panasonic exclusive 'Plus Card' loyalty members and can then take advantage of the fantastic deals on Panasonic products. Consumers gain 'plus' points on every purchase at 'ePlus' and these points can then be redeemed for future purchases of any Panasonic product including digital AV, cameras and camcorders, home appliances, personal care, accessories and system solution products.
"With the launch of 'ePlus', Omani customers can now get immediate access to Panasonic products online. Omasco is proud to be associated with a dynamic, progressive and innovative brand like Panasonic. 'ePlus' adds to the sales channels already in place across Oman to reach customers and helps those customers who are enabled through the Internet to purchase," said Michael Hansen, managing director, Omasco.
All products purchased will be delivered within Oman. Furthermore, Panasonic is offering free delivery of all products purchased before February 18, 2013.
Panasonic is using a secured payment gateway to secure all online payments, and Panasonic will not store any credit card information, giving customers added security to shop online.
The ePlus website is only available in English currently, and a wider Middle East version is in the planning stage and will be launched soon. Prior to launching 'ePlus' — Oman, Panasonic launched the 'ePlus' — UAE portal in 2011.
