Muscat: The first physical rehabilitation centre in Oman, Rehab for Medical Rehab was inaugurated recently under the auspices of Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Obeid Al Sa'eed.
Strategically located on the ground floor of the Mazoon Electricity building in Shatti Al Qurum, the centre provides excellent and quintessential expertise, technology, knowledge and clinical skills eliminating the need for patients to travel overseas for treatment and extensive rehabilitation.
And to oversee this venture, Rehab for Medical Rehab brings down top American clinical rehabilitation specialists — Ankur Desai, neurology, MscPt from Loma Linda University California, USA and Rina Pandya Desai, orthopaedic and vestibular MscPt from University of Michigan Ann Arbor USA, health professional council NHS Swansea Wales UK with combined rehabilitation experience of 25 years from USA and UK who excel in their realm of physical rehabilitation in different clinical settings.
"Lot of support from local health care fraternity and Ministry of Health in relation to a preexistent void in the realm of rehabilitation medicine make it a dire need to operate a centre of this calibre here," Rina nods appreciatingly.
"We are here to render services to the people of the Sultanate to the highest degree of patient safety, quality, competence, evidence based rehab treatments and functional outcome measures," Ankur concludes on a confident note.
