Muscat: Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), represented by Raysut Industrial Estate, organised a seminar underscoring secure investment in industrial projects at Hilton Salalah under the auspices of Abdullah bin Aqeel Al Ibrahim, Adviser at the Office of the Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar.
The seminar geared towards stimulating and securing investments through finding local sources of funding as a way to support overall growth. Around 100 representatives, comprising business leaders, businessmen, funders, and Omani investors especially those from Dhofar governorate, were present at the event.
Said bin Ali Al Mashani, director-general of Raysut Industrial Estate stressed the significance of the seminar while delivering the opening remarks, and hailed efforts carried out by the attendees in contributing to the advancement of the industry through developing projects in terms of numbers and diversification.
Al Mashani said the contributions of Raysut Industrial Estate for the applicants who are willing to set up projects in the estate.
"His Majesty Sultan Qaboos's care for Oman's industry is embodied through the support offered by the Omani government to develop this growing sector," noted Dr. Sami Al Azzawi, director of Rasikh Centre for Management Consulting and Training. While delivering his paper, Al Azzawi discussed the development triggered in the sector and highlighted around 50 proposed industrial projects which can be initiated and defined ways to set them up.
Prof. Muawiyah Hussein, economic and finance professor at Dhofar University for over 11 years; delivered a paper highlighting local currency, investment and the present value of money and inflation.
Through his rich experience in the field, Mohamed Ahmed Alawi Al Dheeb, CEO of Raysut Cement Company, touched upon the reasons that lead to the success of industrial projects. He also underlined the administrative, environmental and personal factors that would lead to a failure of a project.
Al Dheeb is known for his competence, thoroughness and responsibility towards his company, employees and shareholders in the company, as well as towards the Omani society as a whole.
