Muscat: A fire broke out on Tuesday night at the Petroleum Development Oman's (PDO) Yibal-A station, the company said. It immediately mobilised its emergency response services that contained the fire and brought the situation under control.
The incident did not result in injuries. PDO staff are continuing to work to secure the facilities. "Meanwhile, an investigation is underway to identify the cause of the fire as well as identifying the scale of damage to the facilities such that plans for resumption of operations can be prepared," said a statement.
