Muscat: A youthful and fun-filled launch event is slated to be held at the Muscat City Centre Mall in the evenings from today till January 18, to launch the all-new Toyota RAV4.
Today's would be graced by the master-creator of the all-new Toyota RAV4, Makoto Arimoto, chief engineer, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) as well as Akio Takeyama, general manager, Middle East, TMC.
According to the spokesperson, "This unique event would feature a special performance by a group of dancers and interactive stage shows. Consumers visiting the event can win exciting prizes which includes iPhone 5, Note II, iPad Mini, etc."
"Visitors can also get a 'touch and feel' of the 'fungineered' new RAV4 by taking a test drive at the venue," he added. RAV4 is a global model that is sold in more than 150 countries and regions globally.
Describing the new RAV4, the spokesperson remarked, "The all-new RAV4 has been reborn. It is even more attractive than ever — with even more advanced technology — and even better specs. It represents state-of-the-art driving pleasure. I am confident our customers will love it, too. "
Makoto Arimoto, has had a long and distinguished career with Toyota. After obtaining a master's degree from the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University, he joined TMC's electronic engineering division where he worked on the 4WD and ECT control systems. He approached these and other projects with a unique perspective based on his prowess in metal processing technology, which he cultivated at Kyoto University.
The next move in his distinguished career was towards the technical administration division, where he was responsible for the development of the organisational plans. He then took part in the production of fuel cell systems at the fuel cell development and planning division. In 2005, he was transferred to Toyota Commercial Vehicle Development Centre ZN, where as a chief engineer, he participated in the development of other successful Toyota models.
In 2010, Arimoto moved to the Product Planning Group ZD, where he spearheaded the creation of the new-generation RAV4.Akio Takeyama will be also present during the unveiling of the new RAV4, which will take place at 7pm today.
Tomorrow and on January 18, there will be test drives of the new RAV4 offered throughout the day and special entertainment in the evening from 6pm onwards.
