The ROP had received information about a man trying to smuggle drug capsules by hiding them in his intestines. Immediately, the ROP coordinated with the Department of Drug Control at MIA and nabbed the accused who was coming from an Asian country.
The man was later taken to a hospital where an X-ray revealed 71 capsules packed with heroin inside his body, the statement added. The accused was later handed over to the Public Prosecution for trial.

Officers from the Drug Enforcement Department of the ROP recently arrested four persons in the wilayat of Salalah on charges of drug trafficking.
Following investigations, the police arrested the four traffickers from their house, from where they recovered 50 heroin capsules. The ROP also recovered money that the four suspects had earned from the sale of drugs. The accused have been referred to the Public Prosecution for trial.
Meanwhile, the ROP in Dhofar have arrested traffickers for allegedly smuggling narcotics in the wilayat of Taqah. The suspects were found with 455 bundle of `qat' which is a green leaf with amphetamine-like qualities.
