Muscat:
Al Seer Group defeated Suhail Saud Bhawan Automoblies in the final to lift the 6th Oman Air Corporate Cricket Cup held at the Rusayl football stadium.Electing to bat first after winning the toss SBA posted a moderate score of 32 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted eight overs. Rajendra Jog 10, Mujtaba 12 were the top scorers for SBA.
Taha of Al Seer was the main wicket-taker with figure of 3 for 1. Needing 33 runs to win Al Seer Group raced to the target not before losing 6 wickets in 7.4 overs.In the semifinal matches held earlier Al Seer group defeated Al Khan Foods LLC and in the second match SBA beat Al Ghalbi International to set up a final showdown. A total of 11 matches were held on a knockout basis with the first match commencing at 7am and the grand final being held at 8pm.
DJ Saaagra who was in attendance played the latest tracks to entertain the crowd. Speaking at the prize distribution ceremony Al Seer Group skipper Ram said, "We are thankful to the organisers for providing us this opportunity to play. It was a successful tournament and all the players played cricket with a lot of enthusiasm and sportsman spirit"Ajay who represented Al Seer Group was adjudged the man of the tournament and won an
Apple Ipad.
The best batsman of the tournament was Ajay (Al Seer), the best bowler of the tournament was Irtaza (Suhail Saud Bhawan), the best wicketkeeper of the tournament was Pankaj (Suhail Saud Bhawan) and the man of the finale match Taha (Al Seer). The tournament was organised by Oman Air and supported by Mustafa Sultan Exchange Company LLC, Shell Oman Marketing SAOG and Omanicricket.com Media sponsor of the tournament was Times of Oman.
