Muscat: Since its inception in 2002, Haya Water has been keen to harness all available expertise and potential to establish the most comprehensive engineering projects in the Arabian Gulf.
The Al Amerat Water Reuse Project which includes western area of the wilayat of Al Amerat, was awarded recently to joint venture comprised the Arab Contractors and National United Engineering & Contracting Co., is one of the most significant assignments for Haya Water.
In this regard, Haya Water organised and conducted a joint meeting with sheikhs, dignitaries and public of Al Amerat in order to enhance cooperation between the company and the people of the Al Amerat regarding water reuse project which will be implemented in the upcoming months.
The meeting was held at the office of Sheikh Muhanna bin Saif Al Mawali, wali of Al Amerat and was attended by their excellencies, Shura Council members, government dignitaries, sheikhs, and public, while Haya Water was represented by their CEO, Eng. Hussain Hassan Abdul Hussain, Eng. Said Al Asmi, general manager of projects and a number of Haya Water executives.
Hussain Abdul Hussain stressed that, "Haya Water will implement four projects in wilayat of Al Amerat. Three of these projects are related to establishing wastewater networks and distributing treated effluent networks for western, northern and eastern areas.
The forth project will be for building sewage treatment plant and other related plants. The capacity of the plant will be 18,000 cubic metres per day.
One of these wastewater projects was awarded in October 2012. The other three projects will be awarded during the first quarter of 2013.
The cost of these projects is about OMR100 million. All the four projects will be completed by 2016 and will cater to over 9,000 properties of Al Amerat.
The length of the wastewater and treated effluent networks will be about 828km. The water reuse networks aim at gradually reducing, and finally eliminating, the current complex system of transporting wastewater from a property's septic tanks via tankers, thereby benefiting the population, and simplifying the collection of revenues from the various properties.
