ISC football tourney in progress

Muscat: The inaugural seven-a-side football tournament organized by the Indian Social Club (ISC) Muscat kicked off on Thursday at the Al-Bustan Club grounds in Al Wadi Al Kabir. P. Babu Rajendran, general secretary of the ISC inaugurated the tournament. The tournament is being sponsored by Sadolin Paints & Al Taqdeer Fashions.

In the first match of the evening, Green Kleen defeated fancied Katchi Challengers. Javed Ashraf scored once in each half to give Green Kleen the victory. Katchi challengers had many opportunities to score but some good goalkeeping from Imran kept them from scoring.

In another exciting match, ISC Young Stars defeated Legendry All Stars. Both the teams were locked at two goals each at end of the normal playing time Himesh Haridas & Sanath scored for ISC Youngstars and Abin & Jaffer helped equalize for the Legendry All Stars. In the last match of the day Urdu Wing defeated ISC Avengers 3:0 . Arshil Rizwi scored twice and Abdul scored once to give Urdu Wing a convincing victory. Green Kleen, ISC Youngstars, Urdu Wing & ISC Crusaders qualify for the semifinals to be played today. Green Kleen will take on ISC Youngstars and Urdu Wing play against ISC Crusaders.
