The VoIP dealer with his contraband communications system
Muscat:
The Criminal and Criminal Investigation Department of Royal Oman Police (ROP) in Muscat arrested four people of Asian nationality on charges of dealing in fake visas. A report filed with the police stated that these forgers were providing visas to their fellow citizens, but it was later discovered that the four men were dealing in forged visas.
The ROP has called upon members of the public not to obtain official documents from parties other than government authorities. The ROP also urges all members of the public to report persons selling falsified documents.
VoIP services
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested two persons of Asian nationality for violating the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) rules by illegally selling international calls using VoIP services.
Upon receiving information, the Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations officials arrested the two men and confiscated the equipment they were using, along with money collected for the VoIP calls.
The officials informed that setting up an unlicensed communications system or providing telecommunications services is illegal.
