HM approves OMR214m development projects

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has approved a number of projects worth approximately OMR214 million for the governorates of Dakhiliyah and Al Wusta.  The Diwan of the Royal Court issued a statement which reads as follows:  

As part of His Majesty the Sultan's touching needs of the citizens during Meet-The-People-Tour and the needs highlighted by sheikhs and dignitaries in the governorates of Dakhiliyah and Al Wusta, as well as His Majesty the Sultan's directives to the ministers accompanying His Majesty to pay field visits to identify these needs, His Majesty the Sultan has approved a number of projects in the two governorates as follows:

The Governorate of Dakhiliyah
Izki-Birkat Al Mooz-Farq dual-carriageway, which connects the Wilayat of Nizwa and the Wilayat of Izki.
Marfa' Daris-Jibreen dual-carriageway, which connects the Wilayat of Nizwa and the Wilayat of Bahla.
Connecting water network in the wilayats of Bidbid, Izki and Al Hamra.
Construction of about 145 km long roads to connect a number of villages at the wilayats of the governorate.
Construction of social houses in some villages of the governorate.  

The Governorate of Al Wusta
Construction of about 100 km long roads to connect a number of villages at the wilayats of the governorate
Construction of 150 social houses, equally distributed in the wilayats of Al Jazir, Mahout and Haima, in addition to 150 houses, which have been approved in the Wilayat of Duqum.
Expansion and upgrade of Haima Hospital.
His Majesty the Sultan has also delegated the Supreme Council for Planning to study a number of requests for projects at the two governorates during the next five-year plan depending on their priority, importance and urgency.
