Oman, Iraq hold marine talks

Muscat: A session of bilateral talks between the Sultanate and the Republic of Iraq on maritime affairs, ports and transport were held. These talks followed the decisions of the Omani-Iraqi Joint Committee to expand cooperation and coordination between the two countries and further promoting shipping and maritime trade.

The meeting is being held in Muscat over two days in the presence of the representatives of the shipping companies and port authorities in the Sultanate.

The meeting aims at exchanging experiences between the two sides in the fields of marine affairs, maritime transport and ports. The two sides will  discuss a range of issues related to the exchange of information on ships of both sides and exchange of experience, workshops and training courses in maritime and port affairs.

They will also examine the possibility of facilitating marine traffic between the two countries and cooperation between shipping and marine companies in the Sultanate and Iraq.
