As Muscat Festival 2013 offers a great family day out with the kids at parks, popular attractions and many more fun places and activities, many families pen down this event in their entertainment list. However, for some families, going to the Festival might turn into a nerve-racking nightmare for a short time when they inadvertently lose their kid in the crowd.
As such incidents are highly expected during events like Muscat Festival, the Information Centre in Al Amerat Park in collaboration with other visitors, is playing a huge role in finding missing children and bringing smiles back to the family.
"The Information Centre recorded nearly 50 missing children cases during the first three days of the Festival," an Al Amerat Park Information Centre official told the Times of Oman. He added that this high rate could be attributed to parental negligence,as some fathers and mothers do not keep an eye on their children while wandering around in the Park."The big crowds visiting the Park can be blamed to some extent as well," he described.
Earlier, child ID wristbands have been suggested in order to greatly reduce the amount of time that a lost child will be separated from their families. In this regard, the unnamed official said: "This proposal has not been taken as it is time consuming and impractical in a way which can add more burden on the organizers".
