Drug traffickers held; brothel racket busted by ROP

The Directorate of Narcotics Control at the Police Command in Muscat arrested five Asian nationals in the wilayat of Seeb for possession and selling of narcotics. The Royal Oman Police (ROP) had received information that the accused were seeking to sell drugs in a number of Wilayats in Muscat. Following an investigation.
The accused were detained in Seeb in possession of 153 capsules of heroin and hashish. The accused were referred to the Public Prosecution for an additional investigation, prior to their being put on trial.
Prostitution racket
The Royal Oman Police has arrested nine women, along with another person, on charges of running a brothel in Ruwi, Azaiba, Gubrah and Ghala. Following an investigation, the ROP arrested the suspects at different locations throughout Muscat.
Officials said the accused lived in rental houses and worked in herb shops to cover their activities. RO6000 has been recovered by police. Officials said CCTV cameras were used during surveillance at various locations.
