Muscat:
As part of its five-year plan to improve customer service by launching new outlets in a number of key shopping malls in the Muscat Governorate, the Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC) yesterday opened its second outlet at Muscat City Centre (MCC), Seeb.
Inaugurating the outlet engineer Omar Al Wahaibi, chief executive officer, Electricity Holding Company (EHC) asserted that customers will be able to transact on a range of services offered by MEDC which endeavours to constantly enhance its customer's services and experience.
"This outlet will enable MEDC customers to obtain various electricity related services beyond the normal office working hours and at places more convenient to them," he added.
Al Wahaibi further said, "With a vision to be 'the recognised leader in the electricity industry in the region by 2015' and a mission to 'improving the performance of the sector' — one of EHC's key areas is to work with our associated companies to deliver value added services. As we continue to advance the capabilities of the electricity sector to meet the electricity needs of the Sultanate, our focus will also be to build strong relationship with the public."
The third outlet will be opened in Lulu hypermarket in Darsait in a few months time. More outlets will later be opened in City Centre, Qurum, Sultan Centre in Amerat and other shopping malls. It may be recalled that the first outlet was opened in September at Muscat Grand Mall in Bausher, which was inaugurated by Manal bint Mohamed al Abdawania, the chairperson of MEDC.
Engineer Abdullah Bin Said Al Badri, chief executive officer, MEDC said, "I am delighted to know that the initial reaction to our first store has been very encouraging as customers are happy with this initiative. We expect more customers will avail themselves of our services in our new outlet."
Another recently launched initiative that has been appreciated by the customers is the Self Meter Reading (SMR) facility, which is for the first time being offered to customers not only in Oman but in the whole region.
