Muscat: Two qualifiers will be vying for the boys title as the Oman ITF Junior (Under-18) Tournament 2 will conclude at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex today.
In yesterday's semifinals action, British boys Josef Dodridge shocked the Turkish top seed Mert Adanali in straight sets.
The 6-4, 6-3 victory helped Josef Dodridge to set up a summit clash with fellow qualifier Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands. Griekspoor defeated un-seeded Isa Mammetgulyyev of Turkmenistan 6-3, 6-3.
In the girls singles, Inger van Dijkman is eyeing the back to back titles after defeating Egypt's fifth seed Lasheen Habiba 6-4, 7-5 in her semifinal.
She will meet Belgian qualifier Estee Widdershoven, who recorded a 6-1, 6-3 win over Russia's Daria Glushich in the other semifinal. Meanwhile, Arturs Lazdins and Justin Roberts of Latvia and Bahamas were declared the boys doubles champions as their final opponents Ireland's Peter Bothwell and Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands pulled out on medical grounds. In the girls doubles Janine Hemmes and Inger van Dijkman of the Netherlands beat Appolline Rassat and Julia Soica of France 6-4, 6-2.
