Budding footballer found dead

Muscat: A 16-year-old footballer was found dead near Al Hafah beach in the wilayat of Salalah yesterday. Sources from Royal Oman Police (ROP) said the boy was killed on Sunday night and investigations are underway to ascertain the facts.

The body of the teenager has been sent to the forensic laboratory for examination, an official from the ROP said.

The family members of the young footballer said he had called them at around 11 p.m. and was having breathing problems due to which the conversation came to an abrupt end.
