1,897 packs of expired drugs seized at Muttrah

Muscat: The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) has seized 1,897 packs of expired drugs from Muttrah. The packs were seized at a store of a pharmacy supplier, in Muttrah. A number of judicial officials and inspectors from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries launched a joint inspection drive after a tip-off about the expired drugs. The drive resulted in the seizure of expired drugs, in addition to insecticide products. Recently, several cases of fraud involving changing of expiry dates on products have been reported. Several accused of such fraud have been arrested.
