Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) yesterday arrested an alleged sorcerer of African nationality from a hotel in Muscat.
The arrest was made after officials of the ROP received a tip-off about an African national staying in a hotel allegedly trying to sell some illegal medication, an official said.
The police swung into action immediately and arrested the accused from the hotel. Some papers and books were recovered from his possession, an official added. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further action.
An ROP official has cautioned citizens not to believe in sorcerers, who use spurious medicines that can be harmful to health, he warned.
