Bank Sohar announces Al Mumayaz savings scheme

Muscat: Bank Sohar announced its new Al Mumayaz savings scheme for 2013 at a press conference held here. The Al Mumayaz scheme encourages customers to save more and gives them the opportunity to win exciting prizes including six hourly prizes every working day and new prize draws just for children's accounts every quarter.
This is in addition to numerous other prizes every quarter and the year-end grand prize of OMR600,000.

Unveiling details of the new savings scheme, Khalfan Rashid al Tal'ey, DGM Retail Banking, Bank Sohar, said, "We want to encourage people to get in the habit of saving and to save for their future, for the benefit of themselves and for their families too. At Bank Sohar, we also our give our customers a real incentive to save, with the opportunity to win cash prizes with this new savings scheme. The 2013 Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme has a new hourly prize draw which rewards six lucky winners for every working day of the year."

"Plus, we have introduced for the first time an exclusive draw just for children's accounts. This will be held every quarter with a bumper prize pool totaling OMR70,000 in the last quarter," he added.

"Our customers are our real strength. We want to help them plan for their future and maximize their opportunities to save, while being richly rewarded for doing so. The Al Mumayaz Saving Scheme offers thousands of prizes throughout the year, and a total prize pool of over two million rials; so we're confident there will be lots of happy Bank Sohar customers in 2013," he further added.

The 2013 savings scheme offers customers lots of reasons to save plus the chance to win one of six hourly prizes of OMR1,000 during period from Sunday to Wednesday.

Customers who maintain a minimum average balance of OMR100 in their Al Mumayaz savings account are eligible to participate in the hourly prize draw. These great prizes will be drawn six times every official working day, ensuring that there will be over 1,000 winners 'hourly prize' winners over the course of 2013.

Customers who meet the same minimum average balance requirement are also eligible for the quarterly regional prize draw of OMR7,000.  In addition, there are also exclusive bumper draw of OMR70,000 every quarter for those who maintain a higher minimum average balance of OMR1,000.

Also, new to this year's scheme are exclusive prize draws for children. All children's accounts which maintain a minimum average balance of just OMR100 are eligible for a draw of OMR7,000 for the first three quarters, in March, June and September. The prize money will be distributed among seven lucky winners who will each find their accounts OMR1,000 richer. Additionally, children's accounts will also be eligible for the bumper draw at the end of the year where seven lucky winners will each walk away with OMR10,000.

Finally, the bank will be holding a year-end grand draw of OMR600,000. Anyone that maintains a minimum average balance of OMR1,000 for a period of 30 days prior to the draw is eligible. But that's not all; as an added incentive to save more money, anyone who maintains a higher minimum average balance of OMR10,000, is eligible for an exclusive prize draw of OMR100,000 in December.

Account holders will have four chances for every minimum average balance maintained in their accounts for any of the above draws. Children savings accounts will earn twice the chances to win.

Further, accounts that are maintained in AED are also eligible to participate in the Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme.
