King Khan in Muscat

Bollywood fans in Muscat were in for a treat Wednesday evening at the much-awaited event "Temptation Reloaded." Indian megastar Shah Rukh Khan took his Muscat fans by storm as he grooved with co-stars Katrina Kaif and Preity Zinta. Ali Zafar, Anuskha Dandekar and Shalmali Kholgade were the other stars who performed at the show. The event was organised by Light and Shadow Enterprises LLC and held at the Oman Automobile Association Club in Seeb. The grand scale stage accommodated at least 25,000 people with an exceptional lighting and sound system. Reports suggest Shah Rukh Khan was supported by a troupe of 120 dancers.

The show started with a few introductions and themed acts by Anushka Dhandekar, Katrina Kaif and Preity Zinta performing on a medley of songs from their hit movies. Next was Ali Zafar who sang a few songs from his movies such as London Paris New York. Then Shah Rukh Khan, also known as the 'King of Bollywood', entered the stage amidst thousands of excited fans.Very soon the huge crowd went into frenzy when he performed on a medley of songs such as "Chammak Challo", "Yeh Kali Kali Ankhein", and "Koi Mil Gaya". The witty actor, known for his impromptu acts, interacted with the audience while dancing with them. While his dances created exhilaration, his interaction with the audiences evoked emotions.

The star of the show was none other than Shah Rukh Khan also referred to as King Khan by his fans and media worldwide. His performance stole the show and mesmerized thousands of fans.

While Anushka Dandekar was the anchor of the show, Ali Zafar and Shalmali Kholgade also entertained Muscat's audience with their songs. The finale saw all the artists performing together the hit song "Om Shanti Om". Shah Rukh's diehard fans left asking for more at the end.

I agree with the Remarks made by one of your readers Mr Nair. Tickets cost were so high that it was out of bound for the Normal earning people. Organizers should understand that every people has a interest to see these type of gala functions. But due to this reasons there were many seats vacant in many categories .People who were in Category D,E and F were not able to see anything. People management was so poor that front row people were standing and people in back row were not able to see anything. Food facility was also very expensive. At the end of the day Function was also not so good as expected by many persons. Anyways this is a lesson Organizers should take for future shows. We appreciate your reporter in giving full detail about the function. Keep it up.

This is only Profit to the Light and Shadow Enterprises LLC. Ticket pricing should be fair enough. It was only money making event.

Srk is SRK. Nobody like him, but Ali was a big let down and that unknown singer who thought she can fool audience by lip-syncing. Preity and Katrina were mere glam dolls. No extra effort!! But I am happy that atleast in Muscat this kind of a star studded night was held..

I do not have any favourite actors in my cultural prospect, but I respect artists and performers of any caliber. What surprised me most with the much talked Shah Rukh Khan show in Muscat was that the embarrassing trend of ticket pricing. The organisers must realise that RO 500 is not small amount. An average expatriate worker in Oman earns much less than RO 100 a month, while an entertainment show was priced at more than five times of the earnings of a family. I wonder who takes the privilege of purchasing these tickets. I am sure, a large amount of expatriate earnings have diverted to this ‘never before’ entertainment show that the so called organizers claim gripped Muscateers, though I was not part of the mass.
