Muscat: It was Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan's show all the way at the Temptations Reloaded concert held at the Oman Automobile Association Club on Wednesday.
Performing at the show, organised by Light & Shadow Enterprises LLC, the megastar impressed the audience with his energetic onstage performance.
Dancing, interacting, singing, jumping, romancing — King Khan lived up to his complete entertainer image as the houseful audience lapped up his every move with full-throated screams of "We love you Shah Rukh."
From the time of his entry till the end of the show it was a nonstop entertainment, whenever he got on stage. The lavish production, the result of the meticulous organisation, was also the highlight of the show.
Light & Shadow Enterprises LLC's thorough organisation at the venue added to smooth flow to the events.
The concert kicked off with actor, singer and veejay Anuskha Dandekar performing to some hit numbers such as Pani Da Rang Dekh Ke, Go Go Govinda and Halkat Jawani among others. Next to take stage was Katrina Kaif who made an entry on an elevator. She performed to her popular songs such as My Name is Sheela, Mashallah and Chikni Chameli among others.
Katrina then made way for the vivacious Preity Zinta who impressed the audience with her enthusiastic dancing. She grooved to her well-liked songs such as It's the time to Disco, Nach Baliye and Mahi Ve; Preity even walked down the stage to dance among the audience for a few seconds.
Musician, composer, singer, song writer, actor Ali Zafar used a car to make his entry. With support from his band he sang songs from his album as well as from his hit Bollywood films. He performed hit songs such as Channo, London to Paris, Bachna Yeh Haseeno. Ali Zafar rendered a Sufi song and interacted with the crowd too.
Anuskha took to the stage once again in the role of the comperer as a lead up to SRK's entry.
SRK's grand entry
Shah Rukh made his stage-entry in an enclosure suspended on crane, sending the huge crowd at the venue, into raptures.
With songs from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Don playing in the background, the star made a grand entry. Welcoming and thanking the audience on his behalf and other performers' behalf, he told them, "The crowd was the best he had performed to till date."
He grooved to songs such as Koi Mil Gaya, Tumse Milke Dil Ka, Chamak Chalo, It's Criminal, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Full of energy, the star put full soul to his performance. Not even at one point was there a dip in Bollywood's biggest actor's performance. It was literally as if he was a new star performing at his first concert. The earnestness and dedication was on full display throughout his act.
It was Shalmali Kholgade's turn on stage next. She crooned numbers such as Daaru Desi, Pareshaan and Lat Lag Gayi.
The theme of the next piece was based on Valentine's Day and on-screen king of romance played it to the hilt. Bringing on to stage a member of the audience by the name Amira, SRK interacted and danced with her to a medley of his romantic songs such as Ankhon Mein Teri and Suraj Hua Madham.
The medley ended with Shah Rukh gifting the girl with many memorabilia. Shah Rukh's fun act with the Muscat-based Indian couple had the audience in splits.
After a dance to a song from Sajda and dialogue from the movie, Shah Rukh made way for Anushka, Shalmali and Ali Zafar.
The journey of fun, frolic and music came to an end with a grand performance with all the stars on stage. The last but one piece, which was a dance to a medley, started with Shah Rukh performing with Preity for the song Jaanam Dekh Lo Mit Gayi, Teri Ore with Katrina, Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh with Preity and Tere Naina Tere with Katrina.
Soon after another performance by Anushka, Shalmali and Ali Zafar, Katrina performed for Singh is King and Preity to Bumbro Bumbro.
The finale piece by SRK was Chaiya Chaiya followed by Om Shanti Om with all the performers. After the performance, the stars got into a special van to go around the venue so that the audience could get a closer look at the stars.
The actors waved, threw gifts to those in the audience. It was a memorable night indeed for all Shah Rukh Khan fans who got to see their idol perform from close quarters. With his trademark charm, his energy and above all with his heartfelt performance he truly stole every one's heart. Times of Oman and Al Shabiba were the media partners of the show.
