Prague: At least two people died and 11 others, including children, were injured Sunday in a gas explosion that destroyed an apartment building in the Czech Republic, local officials said.
The blast occurred at around 4:00 am in the eastern town of Frenstat pod Radhostem, "with all signs pointing to it being a gas explosion," regional police chief Tomas Tuhy told reporters.
Three children were among those hurt, and a man and a woman were in critical condition, added Lukas Humpl, the head of rescue services.
Several other residents of the three-storey building, including at least two children, were still missing, police said.
