Muscat: Muscat Duty Free (MDF) registered an emphatic 74-run win against Moosa Abdul Rahman Hassan (MARH) in a Khimji Ramdas-sponsored Intermediate Cup T20 match played during the weekend at OAC Ground No.3 at Seeb.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, MDF amassed 217 runs for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of their quota of 20 overs, with opening batsman Deepak scoring a blazing 59, whilst Tanvir made a useful 42. Other useful contributions came from Sushanth, 28; Praveen, 25; and Sathish, 22 Not Out. Khalid Moosa was the pick of the bowlers, ending with figures of 3 for 36, whilst Sukhpreet Singh and Abrarul bagged 2 wickets each, conceding 26 and 43 runs, respectively, off 4 overs each.
MARH, in response, requiring a formidable 218 for victory could only manage 143 for the loss of 7 wickets at the end of the 20th over. Opening the batting, Khalid Moosa hit the top score with 42, and tailender Satish Poojary remained unbeaten at 23. Imran bowled a tight line to end with figures of 3 for 30 off 4 overs.

Shakeel Arshad shines Shakeel Arshad, with bowling figures of 4 for 17, was instrumental in PDORC's 37-run win against OCT Al Hail in a Khimji Ramdas-sponsored Intermediate Cup T20 Knock-out tournament played at the same venue during the afternoon session.
Deciding to bat, PDORC started off well, with openers Mazhar Javed, 56, and Abdul Majeed, 29, putting together 54 runs for the first wicket off 4.3 overs. A further 64-run second-wicket partnership between Mazhar and Sandesh Dhuri, 32, and a useful 32 from Mohammed Aqib helped push the score to 169 for the loss of 7 wickets off the 20 allotted overs. Ismail Al Balushi and Suhaib Abdul Ghani bagged 2 wickets each, giving away 23 and 34 runs, respectively.
OCT Al Hail, in response, started their innings with 12 penalty runs for the late submission of the team list by PDORC and was bowled out for 132 off 19.4 overs. The only batsmen to make worthwhile contributions was Abdul Ghani Al Balushi, 35, and Parviz Abdul Qadir, 23. Asad Baig, with 3 for 24 off 4 overs, lent valuable support to Shakeel in the bowling department.

Times of Oman B win Times of Oman B trounced Rukun Al Yaqeen (RAY) by a massive margin of 8 wickets in a Khimji Ramdas-sponsored Junior Cup T20 Knock-out match played at the University Grounds at Al Khoud.
Electing to bat, RAY, playing with 10 men, was restricted to 161 for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of the 20th over. Major contributions came from Rajesh Ayyavu, who made an unbeaten 65, and Sweetly Vijayan, 28. The bowlers amongst the wickets were Vinod Mathews, 2 for 13 off 2 overs; Waqas Mansoor, 2 for 25 off 4 overs; and Vishal Manoj Sheth, 2 for 26 off 4 overs.
With a required run rate of a fraction over 8 runs per over, Times of Oman B lost its first wicket at 19 off 2.1 overs but raced to the target, scoring 162 without further losses off 15.3 overs, with an unfinished partnership of 143 runs between opening batsman Suresh Subramaniam, 55 Not Out, and Mohammed Ayaz, who remained unbeaten at 74.

Al Hashim win In the afternoon, at the same venue, Al Hashim registered a massive 154-run win against Sayarti, thanks to a brilliant unbeaten 115 from Ghulam Humayun Butt in another Khimji Ramdas-sponsored Junior Cup T20 Knock-out match.
Deciding to bat, Al Hashim did well to reach a colossal 256 for the loss of 4 wickets at the end of the 20th over. Other valuable contributions came from skipper Aneer Mon, 72, and Shyju Suleiman, 27 Not Out.
A 10-man Sayarti team, requiring a mammoth 257 for a win off 19 overs and having been penalised 1 over for slow over rates, was bowled out for 102 off 14.2 overs. Only opening batsman Mohammed Faisal Nawaz, 42, and Ruwan Rupasinghe, 24, who joined forces to put on 55 runs off 4.1 overs for the first wicket, made noteworthy contributions. The bowlers to cause the damage were Aneer Mon, 4 for 11 off 4 overs; Suraj Rao, 3 for 3 off 1.1 overs; and Shaheer Najeeb, 2 for 31 off 4 overs.
