Muscat: The Department of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control has arrested a man belonging to an Asian nationality in the Wilayat of Seeb for his involvement in trafficking and possession of narcotic substances.
An official source at the Royal Oman Police (ROP) stated that the accused had been caught red-handed selling drugs. Following search, he was found in possession of substantial amount of money which he had earned by selling the drugs, along with capsules containing morphine.
Legal action has been initiated against the defendant and he case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for submission to the court.
The ROP officials have urged citizens and residents to cooperate in the campaign to combat drugs and to inform police about any such activity of drug dealers.
