Muscat: Meethaq Islamic Banking, the pioneer of Islamic banking in Oman from Bank Muscat, hosted a youth delegation from the UK. The British delegation was in Oman to familiarise themselves with the Omani culture, people, the public and private sector organisations. The session hosted by Meethaq assumed importance in light of the strong Oman-UK relations in general and the banking relations between Bank Muscat and various British companies in particular.
Sulaiman Al Harthy, group general manager (Meethaq Islamic Banking), made a presentation on the 'Overview of Oman's economy and the banking sector,' followed by a question and answer session which evoked strong participation from the visitors. The United Kingdom youth delegation evinced keen interest in understanding the operations of Meethaq Islamic Banking.
