Muscat: WHSmith, in line with its vision of promoting and encouraging local creative talents, is organising the book signing event of Sami Jaffer, the Omani author who recently published his first book entitled Adventures of the Shir Sha – Pharha's Quest. The launch event will take place at the Jawahrat A'Shati Mall outlet on February 21 from 11am to 1pm.
Sami Jaffer, the author of the new book, said; "The adventures of the Shir-Sha are adventures which I hope to turn into a series of books, to inspire thinking and the right attitude to tackling problems big or small. Patience, perseverance and a fearless attitude to obstacles in one's path all play a part to the lead character's possible success (in the book).
Living in the Middle East, where role models for young women are few and far between, it was necessary to maintain a heroine at the centre of the story. I have always felt that this is an area of society that needs support and inspiration. My only hope is that this positive message may be heard by the new generation."
