Muscat: His Highness Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, received in his office here yesterday Agha Rafiq Ahmed Khan, Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
After welcoming the guest and his accompanying delegation, HH Sayyid Fahd hailed the strong relations between the two countries that stem from the strong ties binding them. HH Sayyid Fahd touched on growth of judiciary in the Sultanate and the progress it witnessed in all areas since the beginning of the Omani Renaissance under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
He explained the laws that guarantee the full independence to the judiciary and enable the judges to work freely and help the litigants to exercise all their rights.
The talks dealt with cooperation in a number of areas, particularly the exchange of expertise in the field of judiciary.
The two leaders also reviewed the social and economic developments at the regional and international arenas.
