ROP nabs drug dealers, thieves

THE Drug Enforcement Department of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested two Asians on charges of selling drugs in the wilayat of Ibra.

Drug Enforcement officers suspected an expatriate for involvement in narcotics trade. Following investigation, the two suspects were arrested and a large quantity of narcotics was recovered. The police also recovered cash collected from sale of the drugs.

Jewellery theft
The Investigation and Criminal Investigation Department of ROP has arrested an Asian national on charges of jewellery theft in the wilayat of Seeb.

Following an investigation and search of the area, the accused was arrested and admitted that he stole jewellery from a house in the wilayat of Jazer. Police also recovered OMR2,300 collected from the sale of stolen items.

Woman assaulted
ROP sleuths at Batinah have arrested a suspect on charges of trespassing, sexually assaulting a woman of Asian nationality and theft. The victim reported to the Sohar Police Station that an unidentified person entered her house, assaulted her, and stole her jewellery and cash. Following search of the area, the accused was arrested and admitted to the break-in and assault.
