The development of phase one, which is already operational, costs OMR70 million, while the second phase, for which construction is in progress, will cost OMR30 million. Official inauguration

Speaking after the official inauguration of Muscat Grand Mall, which was graced by Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Mahrazi, minister of tourism, Eng. Abdul Rahman Barham acknowledged that taking into consideration the growth in tourism in the Sultanate, the company will expand the space and scope of Muscat Grand Mall in the third phase.

It may be recalled that Muscat Grand Mall, the flagship retail shopping centre in Tilal Complex, was opened to the public on March 1, 2012.  2013

The formal opening event held yesterday at the Grand Mall premises was also graced by Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, the governor of Muscat, and Dr Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidi, minister of commerce and industry.

Tilal Complex encompasses Muscat Grand Mall and covers a floor area spaning around 250,000 square metres.

The multi-use development provides 30,000 square metres of premium office space—half of which has been occupied by the Nawras Head Office—and 250 freehold apartments that offer a unique "mall lifestyle" experience to residents. Towards the end of 2013, 115 four-star hotel apartments will also join the spectacular complex.

Eng. Khamis bin Mubarak Al Kiyumi, chairman of Tilal Development Company, stated, "Completing the first phase of Tilal Complex has included many firsts for the Tilal Development Company, and we are duly proud since it sets an impressive benchmark for the rest of the project. The vision for the project extended to seeing it become a unique property in Muscat, providing significant value to the Omani economy. The goal was not solely fixed on creating a profit-making venture. Rather, [the company intended] to achieve worthy objectives such as creating more job opportunities for Omanis and creating a better investment environment, with special emphasis on the SME sector, while encouraging Omanis to participate in the private sector."

Eng. Abdul Rahman Barham noted, "On completion of the second phase, I am proud to announce that a unique facility will be added to Tilal Complex: a five-star hotel with three hundred rooms and thirty two high-end hotel apartments. As valuable as this will be to Oman's tourism industry, it will also enhance the project value of Tilal Complex as a whole."
