With a required run-rate of fewer than seven runs per over, Muscat was comfortably placed at 60 for the loss of 1 wicket off 8.2 overs, thanks to a second-wicket partnership of 56 runs between skipper Vaibhav Wategaonkar, 26, and opening batsman Vamshi Ram, 22.
With the exit of the duo in quick succession, wickets tumbled, and Muscat could only manage 128 for the loss of 8 wickets, with none of the other batsmen staying long enough to help it reach its target. The bowling honours were shared by Syed Amir Ali, 2 for 9 off 3 overs; Bilal Khan, 2 for 20 off 4 overs; and Syed Aamir Kaleem, 2 for 26 off 4 overs.
