Muscat:
On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, received in his office here yesterday Ali Fahd Rashid Al Rashid, Chairman of the National Assembly of Kuwait.
Al Rashid conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jabir Al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the Omani people.
After welcoming the guest and his accompanying delegation, HH Sayyid Fahd hailed the close relationship between the two countries. HH Sayyid Fahd also lauded the development witnessed in the GCC countries and the close ties among the citizens of these countries.
He also stressed on the importance of maintaining this close relationship and enhancing social and economic ties among the Gulf citizens. He also praised the renaissance witnessed by the state of Kuwait in different fields and its active role in the regional and international issues.
During the meeting, the two leaders covered aspects of existing cooperation and exchange of expertise among the parliamentary councils in both countries. They also discussed a number of developments in the region and issues of mutual interest.
The Chairman of the National Assembly of Kuwait expressed his appreciation of the comprehensive development witnessed by the Sultanate. He praised the Shura approach and its contribution to the comprehensive development. He affirmed his country's appreciation for the Sultanate's policy and its role in enhancing Gulf cooperation.
