Muscat: An official source at the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) said that the leakage at the water pumping equipment in the first desalination plant in Ghubra in the Governorate of Muscat was fixed early yesterday morning. The source said that PAEW did its best to fix the leakage in a short time despite the extent of the problem at the pumping plant.
As soon as the leakage was fixed, pumping of water was started to fill the assembly tanks in the wilayats of the Governorate of Muscat. The source also pointed out that the leakage at the plant led to shortage in water supply in Al Khuwair (33) and Madinat Sultan Qaboos in the Wilayat of Bausher. The houses affected by the shortage were provided water with the help of tankers as PAEW had arranged a number of water tankers to help the people.
