HM receives Eid Al Adha greetings

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has received cables of greetings from Majlis Al Shura Chairman Khalid bin Hilal bin Nasser Al Ma'awali, State Council Chairman Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi, and Inspector-General of Police and Customs Lt. Gen Hassan bin Mohsen Al Shraiqi on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al Adha.

The Majlis Al Shura chairman and its members extended their heartfelt greetings to His Majesty the Sultan on Eid Al Adha.

He prayed to Allah to protect His Majesty to remain always a leader of progress and prosperity march and to make Oman an oasis of security, stability
and peace.

He added: "Thanks to your Majesty's sound vision, every Omani feels proud of the achievements made which will ensure happiness and prosperity for citizens."

The chairman thanked His Majesty for Majlis Al Shura, which stands as a lofty institution and a cultural landmark.

He added that the Council of Oman building now, as per the directives of His Majesty, encompasses the State Council and the Shura, as well as their employees.

The building, after its opening for the third annual session for this term, will host the sessions and the committee meetings.

"At Majlis Al Shura, we are proud of this great edifice which will remain one of the major achievements of the Renaissance in the future too," he added.

"We take the pledge before your Majesty to do our best to ensure national integrity and enhance the relationship between Shura and other organisations to meet the interests of the State."

Dr Al Mantheri extended his greetings to His Majesty and those of the members of the State Council and its employees on this happy occasion.

He prayed to Allah the Almighty for the return of this blessed occasion on His Majesty with good health, happiness and a long life, and bestow the Arab and Islamic nations further progress, security and stability.

In his cable, Sayyid Badr extended his congratulations and those of the Armed Forces, Firaq Forces and Defence Ministry personnel to His Majesty the Sultan, on this happy occasion.

He said that as the Armed Forces, Firaq Forces and Defence Ministry personnel mark this blessed occasion, they renew their loyalty, allegiance to His Majesty.

In his cable, Lt. Gen Al Shraiqi said, "It gives me and Royal Oman Police personnel a great pleasure and honour to extend the sincere congratulations and many happy returns of Eid Al Adha while Your Majesty enjoying good health, welfare and Oman and its people enjoy progress and prosperity."
