Cruise ships anchor at Salalah Port

Italian cruise ship Aida Diva visited Salalah, yesterday.–ONA

Salalah: Salalah Port has been witnessing a surge in cruise ships visiting the Governorate. Italian cruise ship Aida Diva yesterday visited Salalah Port with 2,325 passengers on board, including 1,700 tourists, as part of its tour to a number of ports across the world.

A large number of the cruise ship's passengers, who came from the Egyptian port of Safaja and headed to the Indian port of Mumbai, toured the important tourist, archeological and historic landmarks of the Governorate of Dhofar, such as Luban trees (frankincense), Al Baleed Archeological Park, Luban Land Museum, Iteen Mountain, beaches and the traditional bazaars.

The cruise ship Seven Seas Voyager will also visit Salalah Port with 1,400 passengers on board, including 750 tourists. The ship is coming from Safaja Port and will then head to the Port of Sultan Qaboos in the governorate of Muscat.

Last Thursday, the port also witnessed the arrival of the cruise ship Aida Blu, with 2,333 passengers on board, including 1,700 tourists as part of its programme to visit a number of Gulf ports.
