Salam Oman salutes HM for Sultanate’s success

Muscat: Glowing tributes were paid to Oman and His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said by Pakistani community in Oman at 'Salam Oman, A Tribute to Oman' event held at Al Falaj Hotel hall, which was decorated with HM's pictures, Omani flags and banners.

Nawabzada Aminullah Khan Raisani, ambassador of Pakistan, was the chief guest while Syed Fayyaz Ali Shah, prominent Omani businessman and chairman of  Abu Reem Group  was the guest of honour and Nasrullah Rasool Bakhsh Al Balushi, director Investment, Ministry of Commerce and Industry was the special guest.

Presented and hosted by Ittfaq Travel & Tourism, 'Salam Oman' was attended by some prominent Omani dignitaries, Pakistan embassy officials, Mohammad Saeed Khan, chairman of PSC, Javaid Iqbal Chaudhary, chairman of PSM board, PSC officials and leading Pakistani  community members, including Shahid Bashir, Mian Mohammed Riaz, Saleemullah, M. Bashiruddin Khan and Haji Muhammad Khan Qadri, who registered their unreserved love for Oman in a beautiful show of respect and solidarity for the Sultanate and its people.

The keynote address was delivered by senior journalist Shahzad Raza, editor Special Reporting, Times of Oman. The chief organiser and managing director of Ittfaq Travel & Tourism, Mian Mohammed Munir welcomed the guests while well-known local poet Murawwat Ahmad and Azra Aleem conducted the show.

After recitation from the Holy Quran by Hussain Mohammed and a Naat by Mohammed Afzal Chaudhary, the proceedings started with the playing of Oman's National Anthem. Ali Haider sang a national song for Oman followed by inspiring English speeches by Hana Syed and Aroosa Munir.

Mohammed Zakariya Babur, principal, Pakistan School Muscat, delivered a speech in Arabic. Dr Yaseen M. Malallah Al Lawatia also spoke on the occasion. Local poets Tahir Rasool Bhatti, Zakir Hussain Zakir and Azra Aleem paid poetical tributes to the Sultanate and His Majesty the Sultan.

A number of documentaries on Oman were played during the event followed by a special tribute to Oman by Zulfiqar Sadiq, talented graphic designer from Ittfaq Travel & Tourism.
"Sultanate's value as a top tourism destination is not the only reason people come here to visit and end up staying forever.

There is much more to its collective charm as a country that is widely admired for its three Ps  peace, progress and prosperity. At a time when chaos, commotion and conflicts define life in many countries around the world, Sultanate of Oman continues to be a bastion of peace and progress, the hallmarks of the Renaissance," said Raza during his speech.

Paying tributes to His Majesty the Sultan, Raza added, "Safety, security and stability are the salient features of the Sultanate's success story which is inspired by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said's unmatched sincerity, sagacity and selfless devotion to his country and people. The people of Oman in return adore their leader for putting their country so firmly on the world map."

Addressing the gathering, the ambassador praised His Majesty the Sultan for transforming Oman into a modern country in a short span of time through prudent policies and inspiring leadership. He congratulated His Majesty the Sultan and brotherly people of Oman on the 42nd National Day of Oman.

A host of prizes and mementos were presented by the chief guest and the guest of honour.  Mian Mohammed Munir presented special shields to the chief guest and the guest of honour as a token of thanks and appreciation. In the end Sheikh Mohammed Najeeb Saleh Al Zadjali prayed for good health and long life of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and more development and prosperity of Oman and other Islamic countries.
