Muscat: With the aspiration of strengthening cooperation ties between the Sultanate and Libya, promote investment opportunities and discuss the prospect of setting up joint ventures, a delegation representing Libyan Export Promotion Centre visited Rusayl Industrial Estate, affiliated to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) on Tuesday.

The delegation was briefed on PEIE in general and Rusayl Industrial Estate in particular through tracking the development stages it went through since 1983. The delegation familiarised itself with Sultanate's strategic location and its most prominent characteristics of investment promotion. They were also introduced to PEIE's mission, vision, objectives, facilities and services rendered by PEIE for investors in the various industrial estates pertaining to PEIE and the compelling investment opportunities in Oman.

The Libyan delegates also visited the Industrial Innovation Centre (IIC), which endeavours to develop sustainable models for creating an innovative culture within the industrial sector of the country.

The centre is a joint venture between The Research Council (TRC) and PEIE, and aspires to build a knowledge-rich culture within the industrial sector in Oman through highlighting mutual benefits of collaboration with the research community including universities, labs, institutes, and science centres.

The Libyan delegation hailed the Sultanate's experience in managing industrial estates. The visitors also expressed their aspiration to advance trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
