Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said presided over the Council of Ministers meeting at Bait Al Barakah on 15 January,2014.

His Majesty the Sultan commenced the meeting by thanking the Almighty Allah for bestowing welfare on Oman, praying to Allah to continue these blessings on Oman and its people and prosperity to the world.

His Majesty reviewed the local, regional and international situations. At the domestic level, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his satisfaction with the efforts being exerted by all institutions of the State in all sectors in implementing the programmes relating to development and services that aim at providing best facilities to citizens and diversifying the sources of national income by utilising investment opportunities in all fields.

His Majesty stressed the importance of taking care in the social and economic fields while preparing future plans, especially those relating to generating job opportunities for youths, and enhancing training and rehabilitation programmes to prepare efficient human resources that can shoulder the responsibility of development and growth march in all fields, particularly in entrepreneurship, through SMEs.

At the regional and international levels, His Majesty the Sultan reaffirmed the salient features of the Omani policy in its relations with other countries of the world, which are based on credibility and cooperation. His Majesty pointed out the importance of addressing all issues in a realistic manner to achieve everything that may ensure understanding and bring peace, which would have a positive impact on the welfare of people and stability in the world and the region.

Concluding the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan issued directives to expedite the ongoing efforts. His Majesty wished everyone success and Oman and its people further progress and welfare.
