Muscat: Amaan Kazi and Ayaan Malhotra capped a successful end to their campaign at the Falcon Insurance Company-sponsored Annual Tennis Tournament organised by the Indian Social Club Muscat bagging the under-12 and the under-10 singles titles respectively.

Amaan Kazi, who has shown tremendous improvement over the last year, has been one of the most impressive in terms of determination, and temperament. One-sided

In the final of the under-12 singles, Amaan blanked second seed Anirudh Sriram 6-0, 6-1.  The final petered out into a one sided affair with Anirudh failing to put up a fight.

Anirudh showed promise early in the match with two brilliant serves but his inconsistency and lack of direction cost him dearly.  Amaan on the other hand, played with finesse and poise and dominated with brilliant attacking ground strokes.  Anirudh squandered plenty of opportunities hitting either long or wide and posed no threat to the brillian tall round game of the champion.

Ayaan Malhotra bagged the under-10 singles crown defeating Avigyan Bhattacharya with a comfortable 6-1, 6-2 win in the final.   Ayaan showed no signs of nerves and played within his limits to gain the upper hand.

After a convincing first set, Ayaan led 3-0 in the second before Avigyan got on the score board. Avigyan put up some resistance and broke Ayaan in the seventh game.  Ayaan was undeterred and broke straight back to win the second set and the title, his first at the Indian Social Club.

Earlier in the semifinals of the under-12 singles, Amaan had upset top seed Yash Tanna 6-1, 7-5 with Yash putting up a brilliant fight in the second set before going down fighting.  In the other semifinal, Anirudh defeated Sabharish Kumar 6-1, 6-1 and in the under-10 semi-finals, Ayaan notched up a 8-2 win over Hassan Haider and Avigyan defeated Sankar Dubey after a cliffhanger which he won in the tie-breaker 8-7 (7-1).
