Asian arrested at Muscat International Airport for trafficking drugs

Muscat: A man was arrested at the Muscat International Airport after he was found carrying 104 drug capsules inside his intestines, after the police conducted an X-ray test on him.

The ROP arrested the air traveller belonging to an Asian nationality for allegedly trafficking in drugs. An official of the Directorate-General for Combatting Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances confirmed that the Royal Oman Police (ROP) had referred him to the Public prosecution.

Forgers nabbed
Meanwhile, the Investigation and Criminal Investigation Department at the ROP arrested three persons of Asian nationalities in Dhofar region on charges of forging medical reports. The arrests came after Salalah Airport found eight different fake stamps and medicines in a suitcase belonging to a person of Asian nationality.

The personnel of the investigation department rushed to the spot. It turned out that the accused were using such stamps for forging documents. After raiding the house of the accused, two of them were arrested and a computer and fake stamps were recovered. Stamps of foreign countries along with local government stamps were recovered from them. The three accused were referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and trial.

Purse thief held
Muttrah Police Station arrested a person of Asian nationality for snatching a woman's purse when she was shopping in the Muttrah Souq. Following search and investigation, the ROP arrested the accused and recovered the purse. He was then referred to the Public Prosecution for trial.

Al Batinah robbery case
The North Al Batinah Police arrested two persons on the charges of looting a national who was working in a supermarket. An official source at the ROP said that the two, with their faces masked, entered the supermarket carrying a knife. They took the cash and fled. Both the miscreants were arrested following search and investigation.
